We are a collective of architects and interior designers who draw, detail and build under one roof - taking few commissions, and giving each of them everything.
I started Virat Design to make buildings that behave well over time - that grow quieter and more themselves with every year.
I was trained to chase the dramatic gesture. I have spent the years since unlearning it. The work I am proud of is the work you almost do not notice - a room that simply feels right, for reasons you cannot quite name.
We keep the studio small on purpose. It is the only way I know to stay close to every drawing, every joint, every threshold.
Build less. Build slower. Build something that will still feel true in fifty years.
Architecture is for people. We design with comfort, natural light, movement, and emotion in mind - ensuring your space feels both functional and deeply personal.
We design the quality of light in a room before we settle its shape. Everything else follows from how a space is lit through the day.
Materials are left to be themselves - to weather, to patina, to record time. We avoid finishes that pretend to be something they are not.
The greatest luxury is what has been left out. We add nothing that does not earn its place, and remove until only the necessary remains.
A collective of nine - architects, designers and makers.
We begin in conversation and on site - understanding the people, the land and the light before a single line is drawn.
The idea is found in sketch and model, tested at every scale, reduced until only the essential remains.
Every junction is resolved on paper. Intent is fixed in drawing so nothing is left to chance on site.
We stay on site to the last fitting - holding the work to the idea, down to the finished edge.
